Sealand Aviation’s DHC-2 RED BEAVER conversion project, launched in June 2021, is revolutionizing the legendary DHC-2 Beaver by replacing its traditional powerplant with the state-of-the-art RED A03 engine from RED Aircraft GmbH. This upgrade enhances efficiency, reduces emissions, and ensures a quieter, more sustainable flight experience.
At the heart of the conversion is the RED A03 engine, a breakthrough in aviation technology. With high thermodynamic efficiency, it minimizes fuel consumption, lowers exhaust emissions, and operates with significantly less noise. The all-aluminum, 12-cylinder engine is designed for reliability, featuring an 80° V configuration with two six-cylinder banks capable of independent operation.
Upgrading the DHC-2 to the RED A03 engine is a step toward more sustainable aviation, addressing climate change concerns while drastically cutting operating costs.
